About the position 

The dynamic CEO requires top-level executive support during strategic growth of the organisation. The CEO is particularly looking for someone with strengths in establishing procedures and policies that will support the company and ensure it remains stable during its growth phase. Working alongside a small but tight-knit team, you will enjoy the benefits of a flexible workplace. 

The office is based in Brisbane however the CEO is open to a remote/office hybrid working arrangement, so will consider applicants based in greater Brisbane/SE Queensland/Gold Coast willing to travel to the office one or two days per week.  The position could also be offered to a highly experineced candidate in a part-time capacity (3 to 4 days per week).

This is an exciting opportunity to work with an inspiring and driven CEO who values a level of strategic input from the EA. Pending easing of restrictions the CEO intends to travel often, approximately 30-40 times per year, so extensive travel management experience is vital. 

The CEO is progressive, supportive, and looking for a true partner who can be trusted to support decision making and delivery of KPIs. A proactive mindset with plenty of initiative and the confidence to identify new ways of working will be highly valued. 

This position suits a candidate with extensive experience in the tech sector or similar (will consider industries outside this) as well as experience in senior company operation and leadership support. The CEO is an excellent communicator and requires an EA to live up to the same high standards of quality written and verbal correspondence. 

Position responsibilities 

  • providing senior strategic support and acting as business partner in the role 
  • managing a busy diary and ensuring time is spent on key company priorities
  • managing all aspects of travel arrangements and providing remote support to the CEO when travelling 
  • providing guidance on procedures and policies to support business growth
  • acting on behalf of the CEO where required 
  • liaising with senior stakeholders both internally and externally
  • preparing agendas, attending meetings, taking notes and circulating minutes
  • writing, preparing, and formatting reports and PowerPoint presentations 
  • adhering to company values and policies at all times
  • managing any additional ad-hoc duties as requested by the CEO

Qualities you will need to succeed:

  • excellent communication skills, including impressive writing abilities 
  • ability to anticipate needs and make proactive decisions
  • a high level of emotional intelligence, common sense and practicality
  • confidence in providing strategic support and insights
  • ability to handle a dynamic, fast-paced environment 
  • strong IT, calendar management and organisational skills 
  • a self-starter with initiative and the drive to get things done 

Preferred knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience supporting C-suite
  • strong knowledge of MAC operating systems including Keynote
  • previous experience in the technology or start-up/scaleup sector highly regarded
  • experience working in a fast-paced and fast-growing business 
  • a confident, mature, and enthusiastic personality 
  • Strong attention to detail
  • highly organised, task-oriented, and efficient 
  • experience managing domestic and international travel
  • capable of managing a complex CEO calendar and juggling priorities to maximise productivity 
  • experience liaising with stakeholders
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • the right to work in Australia as an Australian citizen or permanent resident
