About the position 

This EA will be supporting the head of business development and the head of customer service. This newly created role will provide senior strategic support to the two executives to help them deliver their KPIs and contribute to broader organisational strategy. 

Both leaders are very busy, driven and goal-oriented, so someone adatiple, flexible and confident working in a fast-paced environment will thrive in this position. This position is seen as  a strategic partner in the business, working at the upper echelon of management and making a significant contribution to achieving business goals. 

As the executives’ remit is in business development and customer care, understanding of this dynamic, strong stakeholder management skills and appreciation of the demanding nature of this environment will be particularly appreciated. 

This role will involve plenty of liaison with senior industry decision makers, so a charismatic demeanour, savvy operational nous and can-do attitude will be beneficial and highly valued. 

Position responsibilities 

• day-to-day managing of commitments, correspondence and deliverables 
• supporting the daily operations of the executives
• liaising with external stakeholders supporting the outreach, pitching, proposal and contract stages of new business development 
• supporting the customer liaison metrics and customer engagement responsibilities as required by leadership
• where appropriate, acting on behalf of the executives, thus empowering them to concentrate on bigger picture priorities 
• working alongside EAs across the business to support the senior executive team
• preparing for and attending meetings, pitches, presentations and industry events 
• (when permitted) supporting travel, primarily to Asia and New Zealand, and providing remote support when travelling 
• adhering to company values and policies at all times
• managing any additional ad-hoc duties as requested

Qualities you’ll need to succeed

• Minimum 5 years + supporting multiple executives 
• confidence in taking the role and guiding the executive in working with their first EA
• ability to juggle the demands of reporting to two senior executives 
• proactive, switched on, savvy and confident, self-starter with strong instincts and initiative 
• polished and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
• confidence dealing with VIP stakeholders and customers/clients
• confidence in providing strategic support and insights at a senior executive level

Preferred knowledge, skills and experience

• previous experience within private enterprise and/or professional services will be highly regarded  
• understanding of the nature of customer acquisition, business development and customer relationship management 
• highly organised, task-oriented and efficient 
• able to anticipate the needs of the leadership team
• happy to take the reins in establishing the working dynamic between two busy executives and EA 
• resilient, unflappable and confident 
• the right to work in Australia as an Australian citizen or permanent resident
